Key Steps Guide
Proper selection and installation are crucial to ensuring the ultimate effect.
1. Key Considerations:
Frame Material: High-strength aluminum alloy or stainless steel is preferred for rust and corrosion resistance, ensuring a long lifespan.
Opening Method: Choose based on frequency of use and location. Magnetic types are the convenient, with a handleless design for a more discreet look; spring-loaded push-opening types are equally simple. For floor-level or elevated installations, consider models that require a dedicated tool to prevent accidental opening.
Size and Load Capacity: Choose the appropriate model based on the size of the access hatch and the thickness and weight of the selected tiles. Be sure to consult the vendor to confirm the load capacity.
2. Installation Process (Planned During the Tile Laying Phase):
Step 1: Pre-embed the Frame. During the tile laying phase, precisely position and secure the empty frame of the access hatch to the wall according to the design drawings.
Step 2: Lay the Surrounding Tiles. Lay the tiles around the access hatch as usual, ensuring the frame edges are properly finished.
Step 3: Attach the tile cover. Use structural adhesive or special tile adhesive to securely attach the pre-cut tiles, aligning the pattern with the surrounding tiles, to the cover.
Step 4: Install the cover. After the glue has dried, install the cover with the tiles back into the pre-installed frame and adjust it to be flat.
Tips: For concealment, it's recommended to reserve one or two extra tiles when purchasing tiles for use as access panels. Tiles with special patterns, such as continuous patterns and decorative tiles, require even more precise alignment, which greatly tests the tiler's skill and patience.
