The Budget Choice: Plastic
For bathrooms, kitchens, pool areas, or utility rooms where fire rating is not required, plastic access doors get the job done at the low cost. They are waterproof and easy to install.

A properly fire-tested access door maintains the integrity of the wall or ceiling during a fire. It expands with heat, seals gaps, and prevents flame or hot gas from passing through for a specified period — typically 60, 90, or 120 minutes. For European and Middle Eastern projects, the famous recognized test standard is BS EN 1634-1:2014+A1:2018, which measures the fire resistance of door assemblies under real fire conditions.
