Forward Lock (or Standard Lock)
**Function:**
A Forward Lock is the common and intuitive type of locking. It operates in a straightforward manner: you **turn the key clockwise (to the right) to lock** it and **turn the key counter-clockwise (to the left) to unlock** it. This "right to lock, left to unlock" motion is the standard for locks worldwide.
**Key Characteristics:**
* **Intuitive Operation:** The motion is natural and easy to remember for users.
* **Wide Application:** This is the default mechanism for residential door deadbolts, padlocks, and cabinet locks.
* **Security:** Provides standard, reliable security. The locking direction itself does not inherently make it more or less secure.
* **User Expectation:** Meets the common expectation of how a lock should work, reducing user error.
