A fire-rated access door is a purpose-built entry point installed in fire-resistant walls and partitions to allow safe, controlled access to concealed building services while preserving fire compartmentalization. Constructed from heavy-gauge steel with intumescent seals along the frame, the door expands automatically when exposed to elevated temperatures, sealing all gaps to prevent the spread of flames, smoke, and toxic gases.

Equipped with a self-closing mechanism and a positive-pressure latch, the door remains firmly shut under normal conditions and closes automatically in the event of a fire. Fire-rated access doors are installed in escape corridors, plant rooms, and fire-rated shafts in hospitals, commercial buildings, and public facilities, ensuring both routine maintenance access and reliable passive fire protection.
