In commercial and multi-residential construction, passive fire protection is non-negotiable. Rock wool fire-rated access panels provide certified fire integrity for up to 120 minutes, maintaining compartmentation in fire-rated walls and ceilings while preserving essential service access for building maintenance teams.
The panel's core consists of high-density rock wool insulation (minimum 50 kg/m3) encapsulated within a galvanized steel frame. Rock wool is naturally incombustible - with a melting point exceeding 800 degrees Celsius - and generates no toxic smoke when exposed to flame. This makes it the material of choice for escape corridors, plant rooms.
Beyond fire performance, rock wool panels excel in acoustic attenuation. The fibrous structure absorbs sound energy across a broad frequency range, typically achieving Rw 35-40 dB when tested in a standard partition.  Standard sizes are compatible with both 60-minute and 120-minute fire rating requirements, with bespoke dimensions available for retrofit applications.
